Every year in early May in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, over four thousand eager drill & ceremony devotees descend on the Nationals High School Drill Team Championships and the World Drill Championships. The Ocean Center remains the home of the Military JROTC Nationals Weekend. Under the watchful eye of dozens of hard corps judges representing all branches of the United States military, a gorgeous, world-famous beach and scores of oceanfront hotels, "The Nationals Weekend" has grown to become the largest and finest drill competition held anywhere in the world. Over 350,000 cadets have attended the Nationals over the years, taking with them long-lasting, positive memories of their drill days. The competitors attend from all parts of the globe. Any past cadet will tell you, nothing can prepare you for the pressure-packed excitement and amazing spectacle that is competition during the Nationals Weekend. Remember, schools entering the NHSDTC are AUTOMATICALLY GRANTED a competition slot for the NHSDTC Solo & Dual competition. ONLY INDEPENDENT DRILLERS NOT ATTENDING WITH A SCHOOL SHOULD ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE NHSDTC EVENT THROUGH THIS PORTAL. These events are completely different than any other events you may have attended. Do not assume just because you did something at home you will do it the same way at the Nationals.
