Every year in early May in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, thousands of eager drill & ceremony devotees descend on the Nationals High School Drill Team Championships. The Ocean Center remains the home of the Nationals and a recent expansion and renovation has made this home even better! Under the watchful eye of dozens of hard corps judges representing all branches of the United States military, a gorgeous world-famous beach and dozens of oceanfront hotels, "The Nationals" have become the largest and finest high school drill competition held anywhere in the world. Over 250,000 cadets have attended the Nationals over the years, taking with them long-lasting, positive memories of their high school drill days.
A huge part of the unparalleled Nationals success has been because of the explosive growth of the solo & dual competitions that are held within the NHSDTC's Masters Level on Monday, the final day of the event. Both the World Drill Championships, as well as the huge NHSDTC event have mushroomed in the past decade into a crowd pleasing spectacular with HUNDREDS of competing and spectating exhibition cadets making the Nationals an annual part of their school calendar. The competitors attend from all parts of the globehe globe. Any past cadet will tell you, nothing can prepare you for the pressure-packed excitement and amazing spectacle that is competition at the Nationals. On this portal, you will find entry information for both the World Drill Championships, as well as this National High School Drill Team Championships Solo & Dual Exhibition Page. Those post-high school drillers looking to attend must enter through the WDC link. This NHSDTC Solo & Dual Exhibition link is designed for INDEPENDENT solo & dual cadets NOT AFFILIATED WITH AN ATTENDING TEAM to register and compete in the NHSDTC event (those drillers attending with a competing team will simply add your entry on their school paperwork). The WDC website contains all information for post-high school drillers. For those looking to enter the NHSDTC Solo & Dual Championships, the entry fee for one or two Solo entries from the same school, as well as a Dual entry into the NHSDTC competition is a reduced $75 fee (this gets you TWO solo and ONE dual competition slots). By attending ONLY as a solo and/or dual competitor without a school affiliation, there will also be a $35 package cost per competing cadet that pays for a shirt, medal, patch, and 8x10 photograph. You will be responsible for obtaining permission from your instructor as well as your parent/guardian to attend and you must have an adult chapperone (your parents MUST approve this person in advance). The required paperwork is found on this website after you register to attend by clicking the REGISTER TO ATTEND button at the top of this page. For additional questions in this area, we always recommend calling or emailing SNI BEFORE you register to best plan your attendance and ensure it works within your budget, calendar and general timeframe.
This page will serve as the gateway for everyone wishing to be a part of the NHSDTC Solo and/or Dual competition events. The Official Invitation for the NHSDTC, as well as the entry materials and other vital paperwork have been included on this page to easily allow any cadet, parent or instructor the ability to organize their attendance at the National High School Drill Team Championships. We welcome all spectators and competitors throughout the weekend and look forward to giving you the drill experience of your lives! Please take this opportunity to look through the entire site, as well as the main NHSDTC homepage to best prepare yourself for attending the Nationals. Good luck to everyone as you work hard to ready for your attendance at the National High School Drill Team Championships.
