JUST THE BEST!

(NOTE: Not a part of the All-Service Raider Challenge Championships - All-Service Masters Level Championships ONLY!)
Mud obstacle for the CCR. This is what the mud pit starts out as -- simply a low spot in the road!
The small opening on the left at the top of the picture is a cut-around path where all of the gear goes first.
Teams approach the obstacle and take the small path to the LEFT to pre-place the gear PAST the obstacle raised on pallets.
All cadets (NO GEAR) then move THROUGH the obstacle and will get muddy and wet. Teams then get their gear and go!
A water pump and leveling device keeps the water and mud consistent all day to ensure fairness for all competitors.

PTT Starting Line. One team competes at a time, cadets line up with all cadets ready.
Teams accomplish all of the obstacles on the way down, they do them all again on the way back.
Cadets basically "reset" the course with the moving items placing them back where they started on their return.

The PTT Course will have AMMO CANS (pictured above) and water cans on the course
They sre moved in the same style "up and then back" on the return leg and replaced roughly into their original positions.
Your strategy on which cadets move what is yours to devise. It is critical to plan this in advance.
This strength component we believe fairly balances the agility and speed components on the course.
(NOTE: A practice ammo can is maintained in the ready area for teams to lift and see.

Here is the canoe that will be used for the PTT segment. It will have extra rucks inside to provide the 250 lb. weight.
The picture also shows the small lake the PTT course wraps around in the background. Provides a great backdrop for cheering your team on!

The canoe is easy to grab onto by the sides or even the stability bar in the middle or ends.
We will have an EXTRA identical canoe in the PTT ready area for all teams to be able to grab, feel and lift before they begin!

This is the 8' wall in use for both the Cross-Country Rescue (CCR) and the Ultimate Raider.
As you can see, the boards are warped and bowed just enough to get some good footholds to get over the wall!
As stated in the SOP, all cadets are designed to HANG AND DROP getting off the wall in the CCR team event!
Remember, for the CCR Course the wall will be the FIRST item teams go over - for Ultimate Raider, it is still the last thing they see!

tire
This is the first obstacle in use for the Gauntlet course.
All cadets AND ALL OF THE GEAR (rucks & crates) will go through the tire!
Teams will likely wish to have a single cadet go through the tire and then pass all items through to that cadet.
Gear MAY NOT BE THROWN or DROPPED - please take care of it after passing it through the tire before continuing!

crate crate2
The teams will select rucks (each filled with sand) and custom-built crates (shown above).
The exact quantity etc. is within the SOP. The male crates are heavier than the Female/Mixed crates.

GAUNTLET MALE TEAMS ONLY - MASTERS LEVEL CHAMPIONSHIPS ONLY ON SATURDAY!

MALE, MASTERS LEVEL TEAMS ONLY this is your next obstacle - all others are directed past.
All cadets and rucks will go over the wall and continue to completion of the course. The crates are placed besides the wall and do NOT go over.
It is a 13' wall minimum (right pic). It has a platform on the top (center pic) where your cadets can lean down to assist other cadets.
It has stairs on the side (left pic) Cadet MUST use these stairs to get DOWN from the platform.
The photo shows the stairs with the plywood DOOR locked closed against the stairs as it will be when not in use.
ALL cadets MUST USE THE STAIRS TO GO DOWN OR PENALTIES WILL FOLLOW. NO JUMPING from the platform or uncompleted stairs to the ground.
The rucks may be tossed to a cadet from the top of the platform down to the ground before they take off to finish (cadet must catch them!)

wall
The smaller wall which is the next obstacle for ALL teams is shown here.
All cadets and all RUCKS will go OVER the wall. The crates are placed besides the wall and do NOT go over.
All cadets complete the wall, remember to grab your crate, and move out to complete the course.
As stated in the SOP, all cadets are designed to HANG AND DROP getting off the wall in this team event!
Other types of dismounts from the wall should not be allowed by responsible Raider teams.

tunnel
The next obstacle for all teams is the drainage tunnel(s). Teams should take GREAT CARE moving through this.

Depending on conditions, one or two passes through the tunnels may be required (decision made the day prior).
All cadets AND ALL GEAR will go through the tunnels. Obviously they will be cleared out and "safety rimmed" on the edges for use.

If it rains they will be wet and muddy - be prepared for anything in these obstacles!
ONLY USE ONE TUNNEL, not both for your team for fairness whether another team is present or not.

Long Past Raider Event Photos!
From back when this event was just a 12-school local area meet at a state park in Athens, Georgia!
These photos are from events LONG GONE but we thought they were neat so we left them up! ENJOY!
