AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO THE TEAMS OF THE NYFC
After nearly 50 years of hosting the finest post-season youth football tournament held anywhere in the world, SNI has made the firm decision to END THE NATIONAL YOUTH FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS AFTER THE NOVEMBER, 2023 EVENT. It was not an easy decision, nor was it a decision made in haste, but it was the RIGHT DECISION for all involved. We are proud of so many of the teams, the parents and the coaches who have made the trip to the NYFC in the past 50 years. Over 400,000 individuals have made the NYFC their season-ending experience over the years. The staff of SNI have been blessed to develop lifetime friendships from many of the attending teams and their followers. Great people we will miss. Of course, seeing former players become NYFC coaches and then bringing their kids to the event they remember was priceless as well. CURRENTLY, WE HAVE NO OTHER TOURNAMENT WE CAN RECOMMEND. The NYFC was always more than just football games. The responsiveness, the organization, the caring, and the ability to play teams with similar goals and ideals was our focus. Most other tournaments seem to just take registration money and play games without any care of player safety, correct eligibility or team talent levels. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WERE EVER ABOUT and we have found nobody that does this and without that, they cannot have our nod of approval. In total honesty, more and more youth football teams nationally are not sharing our vision of what youth football should be all about. Too many teams today look at it as a training ground for high school football when in reality less than half of the kids who play youth football on rec teams even at the oldest levels will ever set foot on a high school football field. It was becoming harder and harder annually finding and interesting the right type of teams to have the competition vision we require to ensure a great outcome was had for all - fields, officials and teams. Without that vital piece of the puzzle solidified, we at SNI believe it is best the NYFC event be ended now and remembered for the event it was designed to be from the inception - to give everyone a safe, fun and memorable experience on and off the football field as it did for decades.
SAMANTHA, SHARRON, JENNIFER AND JUSTIN WILL MISS MANY OF YOU AND WE WISH YOU WELL IN YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS! |
